The Company
Founded in 1992, Camuzzi is Argentina’s largest natural gas distribution company by volume, serving 45% of the country’s territory. Through a network of more than 50,000 kilometers of pipelines and distribution infrastructure, the company supplies natural gas to over 2 million customers across the provinces of Buenos Aires, La Pampa, Neuquén, Río Negro, Chubut, Santa Cruz, and Tierra del Fuego. As a leading utility provider, Camuzzi continues to invest in digital transformation initiatives to enhance customer experiences, optimize its digital channels, and deliver faster, more accessible, and more efficient services. The company continuously modernizes its digital platforms to better serve residential, commercial, and industrial customers.
The Challenge
Camuzzi's procurement portal supports a business-critical operational process. Although the custom-built application effectively met the company's business needs, it required new capabilities built on a more modern technology platform. The challenge was to modernize the application without disrupting operations while ensuring a scalable, sustainable architecture ready for future evolution.
The Solution
We implemented an AI-powered migration strategy to modernize the procurement portal from .NET Core 2.1 to .NET 8, eliminating technical debt and strengthening the solution's architecture. To accelerate the process, we leveraged tools such as GitHub Copilot, GPT, Claude, and AI capabilities integrated into Visual Studio Code, improving productivity throughout the migration and refactoring process.
Benefits
- 45,000 lines of code successfully migrated.
- 25% improvement in productivity during source code modernization.
- 44% improvement in productivity during technical debt remediation.
- 24% reduction in total project effort.
