THE COMPANY

Our client is the first and only digital bank in a Caribbean country, allowing users to customize and manage their products through an app without needing to visit a branch. With no physical branches and an innovative operational model, the bank offers products and services with greater agility and fewer fees, providing an experience that adapts and evolves as quickly as its customers' needs.

THE CHALLENGE

In its commitment to creating innovative, customer-centric financial services, the company hired McKinsey to develop the business strategy and design the architecture for its neobank app. After this stage, they needed a qualified technology partner to collaborate in the development and evolution of their digital wallet.

THE SOLUTION

Having previously worked with McKinsey on developing one of the world's first central bank digital currencies with the National Commercial Bank Jamaica Limited, we were brought on to quickly form a multidisciplinary team of developers and specialists in QA and IT Operations. This team worked alongside other vendors and the client's team to implement the established architecture.

Our software development experts worked on building payment functionalities, savings accounts, investments, and loans. For the back-end, we used NODE, microservices, and a layered architecture, while for the front-end, React Native was chosen to ensure the app's compatibility across multiple devices.

QA specialists were responsible for developing a set of tests and improvements using tools such as Karate, DSL, and Postman. DevOps specialists focused on streamlining the cloud deployment process, implementing infrastructure as code, and automating AWS with GitHub.

The product was launched in October 2022, but our teams continued working on the app's evolution to incorporate new features and improvements aimed at enhancing the customer experience.
