CAMUZZI | AI APPLIED TO THE MODERNIZATION OF THE PROCUREMENT PORTAL

THE COMPANY
Founded in 1992, Camuzzi is Argentina’s largest natural gas distributor by volume. With more than 50,000 km of pipelines and distribution networks, it serves over 2 million users across seven provinces, covering 45% of the national territory.
THE CHALLENGE
Camuzzi’s procurement process is critical due to its level of specialization. To support this key process, the company had a custom-built application that was highly valued from a functional standpoint but required new features built on more modern technologies. The challenge was to modernize it without disrupting operations, ensuring technical sustainability, scalability, and a future-ready architecture.
THE SOLUTION
At Baufest, we supported Camuzzi in evolving its procurement portal by combining technological modernization with artificial intelligence to drive business impact.
We implemented an AI-based migration process, modernizing the application from .NET Core 2.1 to .NET 8, eliminating technical debt and improving the application’s architecture.
Tools such as GitHub Copilot, GPT, Claude, and AI capabilities integrated into Visual Studio Code were used to accelerate the modernization process.
Additionally, documentation and unit tests were generated, all components were updated, and the code was simplified and redesigned to improve performance.
BENEFITS
- 45,000 lines of code successfully migrated.
- 25% improvement in productivity during the source code update pase.
- 44% improvement in productivity in the technical debt remediation phase, including unit test generation.
- 24% reduction in total working hours.
