DATA OPTIMIZATION AND CENTRALIZATION TO SUPPORT STRATEGIC INITIATIVES

THE COMPANY

Our client is a U.S.-based chain of stores specializing in the distribution of tires and auto parts. With over 500 branches across nine states on the West Coast and more than 7,000 employees, they are known for their high level of service excellence, a fundamental pillar of their culture.

THE CHALLENGE

Our client needed to consolidate transactional information from over 500 stores into a tool that would facilitate decision-making and operational maintenance for their business and support areas.

Additionally, the company needed to maintain its data repositories with the appropriate quality and timeliness to support strategic initiatives. These initiatives often involved the renewal and/or evolution of legacy systems, changes in data structures, the provision of historical data, and the ability to leverage information analysis potential through new entities and attributes.

The evolution of these repositories needed to align with the business growth objectives for the coming years.

THE SOLUTION

Our Data Management team worked on the creation and maintenance of a centralized cloud-based data platform using the Agile methodology. We explored data sources, defined and created structures in the cloud Data Lake (Snowflake), and designed and developed extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes, as well as scheduling processes.

We also optimized data management by defining and maintaining design and development standards, building development templates, standardizing testing, and monitoring data assets and cloud resource usage. Additionally, we provided a management layer for the operation of critical processes.

Within our strategic initiatives, our certified team played a crucial role in data conversion, contributing expertise in the initial load and the design and implementation of new data integration flows to and from the centralized platform.

BENEFITS

  • Improved data quality through standardized design and development of data structures and integration pipelines.
  • Increased agility in incorporating new information sources or changes to existing ones by reducing the development time of integration processes.
  • Enabled new reports and advanced analytics through the timely and quality provision of new information sources.
  • Successful deployment of strategic business initiatives.
