DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION OF TRANSPORT AND DISTRIBUTION LOGISTICS PROCESSES IN THE TIMBER INDUSTRY

THE COMPANY
Grupo ENCE is a forestry and timber company integrated into the production of cellulose pulp. It is the largest private forest owner on the Iberian Peninsula and the leading European producer of eucalyptus pulp.
THE CHALLENGE
The company needed to undertake a digital transformation process to achieve full traceability of wood delivery traffic and supply to its factories.
The solution had to provide more detailed control over operations by centralizing all information in one place and making it accessible anytime, anywhere.
THE SOLUTION

We conducted an analysis and consultancy on process digitization, followed by the development of a native, multilingual mobile application for iOS and Android. This app was integrated with Amazon Web Services S3 (AWS S3) and the client’s external systems.
The application features secure access with an identifier and secure password generation, allowing administrators to create different types of users with specific roles and access permissions.
Key functionalities include the ability to digitally collect information from all data sources, facilitating full operational control. The system enables the digital management of delivery notes, advanced digital signatures, PDF and photo uploads, and the generation of QR codes with order information.
Additionally, the system includes a geo-localized map/satellite viewer displaying all loading points and ENCE factories.
BENEFITS
- Full digitization of the process, ensuring end-to-end visibility across all routes.
- Centralized information on a web-based internal management panel with customizable filters in an intuitive and user-friendly design.
- Offline app functionality for areas with weak or no network coverage, preventing data loss and ensuring continuous operation.
- Fast incident management.
- Internal messaging system allowing managers to send messages and push notifications to drivers, transporters, or suppliers.
