According to an IDC study, the cloud computing market in Argentina was estimated to be around $1.2 billion in 2023, with projections for 2024 approaching $1.6 billion. These figures demonstrate the increasing migration towards these types of services. On the other hand, it was identified that 27% of organizations adopt a Cloud strategy expecting to simplify and standardize processes and infrastructure, while seeking to optimize investment by switching from fixed costs of purchase and maintenance (CapEx) to variable costs based on cloud usage (OpEx).

Additionally, the quantity and diversity of services offered by cloud providers are becoming broader, enhancing the capabilities to develop solutions by integrating and offering tools associated with software development, quality, security, code integration, and continuous deployment, as well as Artificial Intelligence.

Currently in Argentina, the adoption landscape of cloud computing is very positive. Having already passed the adoption curve, which is always the most challenging aspect with emerging and disruptive technologies, conversations have shifted from why it is important to migrate to the cloud and its benefits to “how do we achieve that implementation successfully?” This change in mindset and focus is supported by factors such as the consolidation of recognized and reliable cloud providers (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google GCP) combined with the benefits seen at the solution level (flexibility, scalability, efficiency).

Furthermore, artificial intelligence services are closely linked to the cloud, and some improvements incorporated by AI include assistance in software development, regardless of the specialty and stage in the software lifecycle focused on such development.

In a digital world where data is the great asset of companies and has become a key tool for decision-making, AI offers processing, transformation, and conclusions that, leveraged by its learning capacity, enhance how information is managed and used to increase business value. Without the capabilities of the cloud, this would not be possible due to the magnitude and capabilities required. The learning AI has based on data also allows for personalizing the experience of individuals within the company, as well as for end customers.

This year at Baufest, we have implemented cloud solution archetypes to have standards in the industries in which we work and accelerate the design and development process of these solutions. On the other hand, we have advanced and grown in the implementation of solutions that integrate multiple cloud hosting, development, QA, and DevOps services, thus developing digital wallets, mobile tracking systems, and interpretation of underwater probe scans.

Looking ahead to the near future, there is significant growth in cloud computing services in various aspects of organizations, and we are integrating and promoting solutions and services that implement these technologies, as our focus is always on technical excellence. Our solutions have source code in cloud repositories to facilitate and improve the experience of integrating and transferring it from the development area to testing and production, also using cloud tools.

Specifically, this use case allows us to analyze the code in terms of quality and security, perform integration, performance, usability, and scalability tests. And once the solution is available, both databases and data processing services aim to be entirely in the cloud or occasionally adopt a hybrid architecture.

As major novelties for 2024, we have objectives that we will be working on, aimed at developing multicloud services, i.e., solutions that integrate services from different clouds and how to manage them in an integrated and efficient manner. On the other hand, DataOps services, which integrate Data and AI services to process and enhance data, with the power of DevOps automation.

Finally, for those companies that have made their journey to the cloud, we are developing a FinOps service, which is a practice aimed at multidisciplinary management of expenses incurred in cloud services and how to optimize those costs.

In conclusion, cloud computing offers (per provider) over 200 different services, greatly expanding the possibilities when developing a solution. If we add to this the latest artificial intelligence innovations, we are approaching a moment in history where a milestone will be marked, as the solutions that can be developed in every human aspect will be exponentially greater than what we could imagine until now.

It is a time to seize that opportunity and innovate, as these resources will allow us to elevate what we develop, and consequently, what will elevate the lives of people.
